A return to nighttime wetting after many years of dry nights can be the result of an underlying medical condition. A return to bedwetting has been linked with such things as an unstable bladder or bladder dysfunction, urinary tract infections, diabetes, epilepsy, and chronic constipation. While medical causes of secondary bedwetting are rare representing only 2-3% of all cases, any child or adult who experiences a return to bedwetting should consult a doctor. If you get the all clear you should discuss with your GP other possible causes and how best to manage this. All the best! Regards, Dr Cathrine
