Hey doc !
Ive had major trouble in the bedwetting stages and Ive just grown out of the Baby Love/ wiggles diapers and im still wetting heavily each night. Since i have grown out of the baby love diapers I tried for a while to go to bed with-out a diaper on. But it went horribly wrong! I wet even more. Someone close to me told me that since I wet during the night and sometimes lost control of my bladder and bowels during the day I should wear huggies drynites pyjama pants. I felt comfortable and confident during the first night that I wore them and in the morning I was dry. This happened for a long while but as soon as I thought I was over the wetting and desided to wear normal underwear at night the next morning i was soaking wet again. Then the next night I would wear a Dry-Nite pant and in the morning I would be dry. It seems that whenever I wear a comfortable drynite I dont wet, and when I dont wear a drynite I do wet. Heavily ! What is happening to me ? And is the drynite ok to wear during the day or even to school ? and will it be ok if I accidently lose control of my bowles and accidently do a number 2 in the drynite. Will it hold. Please help me, I need your advice. Please......... I wont to stop wetting the bed aswell as my pants and start feeling confident with myself
Hi Elise, it is certainly fine for you to wear DryNites both during the day and night. If you do wear them to school you should make sure you change them straight after urination or bowel movement to avoid leakage. The fact that you wake-up dry at night when wearing DryNites is most likely a coincidence – it may be encouraging to know that an increase in the number of mornings your wake-up dry is a good indicator that you may be moving toward achieving permanent nighttime continence. Given the difficulties you are experiencing with daytime continence I would strongly recommend that you get your parents to make an appointment for you to see your GP who will be able to run some tests just to make sure there is no underlying medical cause. You can also use this opportunity to discuss possible treatment options for your nighttime bedwetting.
Regards,
Dr Cathrine
