My daughter is 7 in Oct and still wets the bed she had Kidney surgery to repair a blockage in the tube when she was 3 she doesn't need to see her specialist anymore. Could this be why she still wets the bed

She seems to not want to empty her bladder during the day she will just hold on. She seems to have no bladder control at night. She has been dry a few time but it is not a regular thing. I would appreciate your help if you can Thanks Nicky

Hi Nicky – it is not unusual for children to continue to experience nighttime incontinence once they have started school – with as many as 1 in 10 8-year-olds wetting their bed on a regular basis. Her bedwetting may not have anything to do with her previous surgery although if you were at all concerned I would strongly recommend that you follow this up with your GP. Once you are able to rule this out you can start thinking about how best to help her to become dry at night. Bedwetting alarms are generally your best option – although it is important that you approach any form of treatment following consultation with a medical professional – the more support you receive during this process the greater the chance of a successful outcome.
