my daughter stopped
Hi Razan – bedwetting treatments are generally not recommend for children under 6 years of age, this is largely due to the fact that it is considered developmentally appropriate to wet at night until then. Most children do stop wetting on their own by the time they start school without the need for intervention. The success of the conditioning alarm increases among children who experience less frequent wetting, so if your daughter continues to wet every night it is unlikely to help her to become dry at this stage. Children aged 3 years typically continue to wet at night because their bodies are yet to mature to the point where they can store the amount of urine their body produces. It is important that your daughter understand why she continues to wet at night and that she doesn’t feel that this is somehow her fault. If you are at all concerned about her nighttime wetting then you should definitely discuss this further with your GP.
Regards,
Dr Cathrine
