Hi Natasha, you are not alone here with many parents experiencing similar patterns of nighttime wetting with their young children. It is quite common for children as they move toward achieving nighttime continence to oscillate between periods of dryness then start to wet the bed again. The great news is that this is a really encouraging sign that she is moving toward achieving permanent nighttime continence. In order to help her to become dry it is important that you encourage healthy bladder habits by making sure she drinks water regularly throughout the day, completely empties her bladder just before she goes to bed and make sure she does not become overtired as this will make it that much more difficult for her to wake in response to a full bladder. Its generally not recommended that you wake her throughout the night as this will not teach her to wake on her own. If you do however find this reduces the bedwetting and the stress associated with it, feel free to continue however make sure you vary the times that you take her to avoid conditioning her bladder into needing to empty at the same time each night. If her wetting does becomes a significant issue or causes undue stress then it is certainly time to think about introducing a conditioning alarm. The best person to discuss this with would be your GP.
