The Ditropan is for "bladder cramps". He has had an ultrasound on his bladder about 18 months ago with nothing abnormal found. He also has Neuronal Intestinal Dysplacia. His sister also has this to a more severe degree but has been dry at night since she was two so I don't believe the two conditions are linked.
Hi T.L – symptoms of Neuronal Intestinal Dysplasia (NID) can include constipation, abnormal sleeping patterns as well as incontinence of the bladder all of which are related to bedwetting. If you have any concerns with the management of your son’s nighttime wetting then I would strongly recommend that you discuss these with your his pediatrician. While there are a number of treatments available to help children to become dry at night, many of which are suitable for use with children under the age of 11 years, you need to make sure these are not in conflict with your son’s condition or current medical treatment.

Dr Cathrine
