My son 4 next mouth has just started wetting in his DryNights again, what can I do? should I look at a star chart or something to help him become dry again?

Hi Michelle, you do not mention in your question how long your son had been dry at night for. If it has been for a period of 6 months or more then the first thing you should do is have him checked by your GP just to rule out any underlying medical cause. It is not unusual for children to move between periods of dry nights then begin wetting again as they move toward achieving permanent nighttime continence. When this occurs it is best just to ignore it and return to using DryNites or whatever method you previously employed. It may be helpful to consider whether anything has changed – sometimes children when they become overtired are more prone to bedwetting. It is best to avoid star charts – while these are great for helping children to achieve daytime continence they are not particularly helpful at night as your son does not have conscious control over his bladder while asleep.
